About

For years we have talked and dreamed about doing the Great Loop. Earlier this year, we decided to make that dream a reality. After finding our perfect boat and moving aboard, we are finally off on our adventure. While our usual crew is just the two of us, we are excited to share our adventure with family and friends. We are thrilled to welcome them aboard Hiatus Too!

We had some special visitors from home in Grand Haven & South Haven, MI. and again in Michigan City, IN.

We had a great time visiting family and friends in Grafton and Alton, IL after our trip down the Illinois River from Chicago

High school friends, college friends and dental travel friends all came to visit and we had a blast!

We had friends from back home cruise with us from Paducah, KY. up the Ohio River to the Cumberland River where we turned and cruised up the Cumberland River to Barkley Lock & Dam. We went up 51.5 feet in the lock to Lake Barkley where we spent a few days at Green Turtle Bay.

Our first Gulf Coast visitors joined us aboard at The Wharf in Orange Beach, AL.

Our neighbors from home came to visit us again in Clearwater and some old friends from Middletown who retired to Florida came by for a visit. We were tickled to see them all!

It was great to have our family visit us both before and after Christmas in Clearwater! We loved having them all aboard and appreciate their driving over to visit with us.

Some of our snowbird friends from Ohio came to see us and entertain us in Naples and Marco Island. So much fun and an Ohio State win to go to the National Championship game!

One of our nephews joined us for the first time in Stock Island and the rest of his family were second time visitors aboard. We had a wonderful 4 days celebrating a 21st Birthday and college graduation.

We had some awesome new crew members join us for a week in Key West. Archie, Cleo, Isla, Lauren and Ross all came to visit for winter break!

We enjoyed having visitors, including relatives and friends from California and Michigan, during our stay in Key West.

Our friend Joe visited us in Ft. Lauderdale, friends from home cruised with us from Ft. Pierce to Melbourne to Titusville and Doug’s brother joined us from Jekyll Island to Sunbury to Thunderbolt, GA near Savannah. We enjoyed catching up with them all!
